Licensed Clinical Psychologist; Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Dr. Emily Gibson is a Licensed Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) passionate about assisting children, adolescents, and families with harnessing their unique strengths to overcome challenges and reach their personal goals. She additionally is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).
Dr. Gibson received her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Disability Studies from the University of Florida where she participated in research and provided early-intervention services for autism spectrum disorders (ASD). She gained experience as a teacher and behavior interventionist in schools while completing her M.Ed. in Special Education at Vanderbilt University. She earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where her doctoral research concentrated on trauma informed care, mental health in schools, behavior treatment in foster care, and effective consultation.
Dr. Gibson offers psychological assessment as well as therapeutic intervention for a range of behavioral, developmental, learning, and mental health challenges, such as ASD, ADHD, intellectual disability, specific learning disorders, developmental delays, conduct disorders, trauma, depression, and anxiety. She also provides ABA services including parent training and consultation, social skills training, and behavior modification from a neurodiversity affirming and trauma-informed approach. Educational consultation services are offered to families, teachers, and school teams for the creation or maintenance of behavior intervention plans (BIPs), individual education plans (IEPs), and 504 plans.
