Workshops are group activities and programs we provide that are designed to spread awareness, teach strategies for, and provide assistance for a variety of difficulties and disorders.
Workshops are meant to support clients and their families. These are a great way to learn more about how to support friends and family outside of therapy rooms and clinic walls. Workshops will also allow us to share more resources with our community and support for our clients through their loved ones.
Early Intervention Workshop
This workshop is for parents with children from birth to 3 years of age who want to learn how to help build their children’s language and play skills! The workshop will include resources of how to use your daily routine to build language, use strategies from research-based programs such as Project ImPACT, and to build parent and caregiver confidence with teaching their children new skills.
AAC for Parents Workshop
This workshop is for parents with children of any age who use augmentative alternative communication (AAC) devices! The workshop will include ways to model and teach your child how to use their AAC, busting myths about AAC devices, fun and creative ways to use AAC devices in games and activities, and increase parent and caregiver confidence with using AAC devices. Low or high-tech welcome!
AAC for Teachers Workshop
This workshop is for teachers with students of any age who use augmentative alternative communication (AAC) devices! The workshop will include ways to implement use of the AAC device in the classroom, creating opportunities for students to use their devices, learning more about the AAC device to support your students, and increasing teacher’s confidence with using AAC devices. Low or high-tech welcome!
Language Delay/Disorder Workshop
This workshop is for family members of clients diagnosed with language delays and disorders. This workshop will go into further detail concerning the effects of language delays and disorders on academic performance, daily tasks, and social interactions and how to support children with language delays.
Positive Feeding Behaviors Workshop
This workshop is for family members of clients of children who are considered picky eaters or anyone who is interested in learning how to encourage and build their children’s food inventory! The workshop will provide strategies for encouraging trying new foods, avoiding certain behaviors that may accidentally reduce a child’s willingness to eat, and give resources regarding strategies for feeding.
AAC for Families and Caregivers Workshop
This workshop is for families with adult family members who use augmentative alternative communication (AAC) devices! The workshop will include ways to implement use of the AAC device in your interactions, creating opportunities for communication, learning more about the AAC device to support the AAC user, and increasing family’s or caregivers’ confidence with using AAC devices. Low or high-tech welcome!
Dysphagia Meals Workshop
This workshop is designed to give participants and their families the opportunity to interact with different textures and viscosities. This workshop will also include different recipe ideas for the different diet levels according to the IDDSI (link the triangle).
Aphasia Communication Partner Workshop
Communication requires work from everyone involved, this is no different when one communication partner has aphasia. This workshop focuses on teaching the communication partner different strategies to help improve communication with their loved one with aphasia.
Dementia and Caregivers Workshop
This workshop is designed to introduce caregivers and patients with dementia different compensatory strategies to implement in their daily lives. We will introduce different strategies and activities to help promote increased and prolonged independence.
Memory Book Workshop
This workshop is used as an introductory workshop to creating beneficial memory books for your loved one with a type of dementia.
Deeper Roots Book Club
Deeper Roots is a weekly book club for individuals with cognitive communicative disorders. Each week will include a reading summary, guided questions, snacks, and more! If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Move to Learn
Move to learn is a weekly social group for children ages 3 to 6. This group is designed to help kids learn new social skills while increasing exposure to new language. For more information, please contact us!
